Creative Art Sessions for Care Homes in Buckinghamshire
Bringing Creativity and Connection to Your Residents
My name is Lynne, I am a professional artist and experienced art practitioner based in High Wycombe. I provide engaging, high-quality creative sessions designed specifically for residents in care homes, day centres, and community settings.

My Approach
I believe that creativity is a powerful tool for connection, self-expression, and wellbeing. My sessions are gentle, person-centred, and focused on the simple pleasure of the creative process.
The goal isn't to create a perfect masterpiece, but to provide a relaxed and supportive space where residents can explore materials, spark memories, and enjoy a shared social experience.
I have extensive experience working with older adults, including those with memory loss, and I tailor every session to be accessible and successful for all abilities.

What I Offer
My workshops are designed to be a highlight of your activities calendar, bringing a fresh burst of creative energy to your residents.

-
Bespoke Sessions: I specialise in seasonal and theme-based workshops, from Autumn Leaf Printing and Paper Flower Making to festive keepsake crafts.
-
Ongoing Projects: Many sessions are designed to be multi-stage projects, creating an ongoing sense of achievement. For example, a fabric printing session can be followed by a session to sew the printed squares into keepsakes like lavender bags or a collaborative cushion.
-
All-Inclusive: Sessions are 1.5 hours and priced at £75. This includes all high-quality art materials.
-
Professional & Reliable: I hold full public liability insurance and a current DBS on the renewal service.
A Proven Positive Impact
I have been providing these sessions since 2008 and the feedback is consistently wonderful.
As one resident, Doreen, shared: "It's very relaxing, and there's quite a camaraderie... It gets me out of bed and it's calming because I just have to think about what to paint."

A Creative Approach Rooted in Experience
Art is a wonderful language that everyone can speak, it's a powerful way of helping people with dementia tap into their subconscious.
The focus is never on a perfect masterpiece, but on the therapeutic journey of the creative process itself. It's a gentle escape where, for a moment, people can be more than their condition.

My approach is always patient and person-centred. I am passionate about this work, with a history that includes previously volunteering and collaborating with the Alzheimer's Society on creative projects. I understand the importance of creating a calm, safe, and supportive environment where every participant feels valued.

The benefits for your residents include:

-
Boosting Mood & Wellbeing: Engaging in a fun, sensory activity reduces anxiety and promotes feelings of happiness.
-
Encouraging Social Connection: A shared group activity helps to build friendships and combat loneliness.
-
Sparking Memories: Themed projects can be a wonderful tool for reminiscence. As I've seen many times, "often they'll remember something they did when they were young that they couldn't recall before."
-
Improving Self-Esteem: Finishing a unique piece of art provides a tangible sense of pride and accomplishment.
Voices From The Art Table

Over the years, I've had the pleasure of seeing the positive impact of creativity first-hand. Here are a few words from residents who have attended my sessions:

"Being in a wheelchair I can't always do the activities at the home, so the art class is a great way of escaping from everything and just painting." - Daphne Hansen, 89

About Me
I am a professional artist and illustrator with a BA and MA in Fine Art.

I have years of experience as a community art practitioner, working with organisations like Sunrise Senior Living, Care UK, Bupa, The Alzheimers Society and other independent homes around Buckinghamshire. I hold a current DBS on the renewal service and have undertaken training in working with vulnerable adults and children. I have insurance to work as an independent artist and art practitioner.
