Nature Art Workshops & Wildlife Illustration
I love being out in nature, I think it’s one of the best place for kids to get creative. Rather than being stuck inside a classroom, these sessions are about getting outdoors, looking at things properly, and using the natural world as our studio.
I run artist-led sessions for wildlife clubs, schools, and youth groups across Buckinghamshire. I keep the groups small—usually 6 to 8 kids at a time—so I can stay involved and give everyone the right amount of encouragement and technical advice.
Workshop Activities
These are some of the sessions I offer, but I’m always happy to adapt them to suit the specific site or age group.

Nature Detective Zines
This is a hands-on session where we fold and create our own 8-page mini-books. We take these outside to collect sketches, leaf rubbings, and observations. By the end of the walk, the kids have authored their own field guide to take home.

Texture Scavenger Hunt & Collage
I give the kids a "texture mission" to find different patterns in nature—things like cracked mud, ribbed leaves, or moss. We use charcoal and crayons to take rubbings of what we find. Once we’re back at base, we cut the rubbings up to create a mixed collage made entirely of the textures found on the walk.

Observation Drawing & Nature Walks
Drawing is one of the best ways to really look at things properly. I lead nature walks where we use small sketchbooks and magnifying glasses to get up close to the details. It’s about slowing down and getting those observations down on the page.

How the Sessions Work
I provide all the professional materials for the day—all you need to do is provide the space - I stay with the group the whole time, providing encouragement, tips on how to use the materials and anything else that is needed.
