The sun is still warm on our skin, and the long, light-filled days of summer are not quite over yet. But if you stand very still in a quiet moment, perhaps you can feel it too—a subtle shift in the air, a new slant of golden light in the late afternoon.
The first few leaves on the sycamore trees are just beginning to turn, a quiet promise of the magic to come.
For those of us who love to live in tune with the seasons, this is a beautiful, in-between time. It’s not about mourning the end of summer, but about celebrating the magnificent turning of the wheel.
Autumn doesn’t arrive sadly; it arrives in a blaze of glorious colour, a final, joyful dance before the quiet rest of winter. It’s a season that invites us to slow down, to gather our own personal harvest, and to find comfort in the growing darkness.
My work has always been deeply rooted in nature, tradition, and folklore. I find endless inspiration in the old ways, in the stories our ancestors told to make sense of the world, and in the quiet wisdom of the earth. The Autumn Equinox, or Mabon as it's known in some pagan traditions, is a powerful time for reflection. It’s a moment of perfect balance between light and dark, a time for gratitude, and for gently letting go of what we no longer need to carry.
